CBD BUYER'S GUIDE

Extraction:  When comparing CBD, one of the most important factors is which extraction method is used.  Our full spectrum Cannabidiol oil is CO2 extracted, Non-GMO Project Verified, and organic, which makes it some of the highest quality CBD found in today's market.  A huge concern is which, if any, solvents are used in processing CBD; as solvents are commonly employed, but acetone, butane, naptha, etc. are not residuals desirable in health products.  There were actually heavy metals and hexane found in the HempMeds CBD, known as RSHO.  This company supplies almost all CBD companies, and many products contain crystal isolate CBD instead of cannabidiol oil, and CBD isolates don't have nearly the health benefits that cannabidiol oil has, see "Overcoming the Bell-Shaped Dose Response of Cannabidiol By Using Cannabis Extract Enriched in Cannabidiol".(less health benefits in isolates).  Hexane causes nerve damage and is very toxic, even with short-term exposure (MSDS link).  RSHO is used in many of the CBD products found everywhere on the internet, including PlusCBD, Cibdex, Cibaderm, Kannaway, and Dixie Elixirs, all are under the umbrella of Medical Marijuana, Inc.  CV Sciences is now bragging that they're working with pharma on synthetic CBD, their products are PlusCBD™ and Purified Liquids™. 

Percentage of Actual CBD:  There are 1,000 milligrams in each gram of volume measurement, so when you see 63% CBD, or 22% CBD, the higher percentage is the most desirable, the actual CBD cannabinoid is as high as 630mg per gram, vs. 220mg per gram.  DO NO GO WITH AN ISOLATE, its clinical use is limited, but CBD isolates are primarily what are found in products on the market today.  When you see anything over 95% CBD, that is an isolate. In Cannabidiol oil, there are any number of natural components, which can include hemp oil and chlorophyll, and any number of cannabinoids, including CBD (Cannabidiol), CBC (Cannabichromene), CBG (Cannabigerol) THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol), etc.  All of these cannabinoids serve a function, for instance, CBG aids sleep and inhibits cancer cell growth, and CBC promotes bone growth and reduces inflammation.  So, when comparing different CBD percentages, what you're looking for is a high CBD content with a low THC content.  The old school of thought was that THC is necessary to "activate" the CBD, but there are indeed conflicting studies on that subject, and there are hundreds of studies linked at this website that show CBD effects when tested with no THC.  Each individual endocannabinoid system does not have the same requirements, as all mammals are different and consume different diets, are exposed to different toxins, etc.  There are several different plants that are regularly consumed that contain cannabinoids, so it's impossible to say what works better for each individual, the need for more THC is greater for some, but legal limitations are another consideration. Here are some specific questions to ask of a CBD company:

1. Is your product cannabidiol oil or isolate? If it’s 95-100% it’s considered an isolate, which has much less of an impact on pain and disease as the oil, but it's easy to measure and many people don't know the difference, so generally they think that CBD doesn't work for them.  Study Link on oil vs. isolate:  https://file.scirp.org/Html/5-2500582_53912.htm

2. If it’s cannabidiol oil, what is the percentage of the actual CBD cannabinoid?  Many sales reps have no idea what this means, I've had to ask for supervisors may times.  What you're looking for is a full-bodied oil that contains a certain percentage of the actual cannabinoid, CBD.  A legal amount of THC is also beneficial if you're taking the oil straight, as it helps the CBD to absorb.  The PainBombs contain both, as well as CBG and CBC, scroll down for a chart on their benefits.

3. Is it decarboxylated?  That means heated to a point where the CBDA is no longer an acid, and is now CBD, which possesses the highest number of health benefits.

4. From where does your product originate and is it organic, Non-GMO Project Verified, and Supercritically CO2 extracted?  Extraction is important because of the hexane and pentane mentioned above, as you don’t want butane, acetone, naptha, or other petrochemicals in your health product.

Cannabidiol Oil Dosage, Recipe, & Other Information:

Each gram should last from 3 to 6 weeks depending on reasons for use, as CBD works well in microdoses.
A typical amount when using CBD is 1 to 3 drops (rice-sized) per day, or 1/8 to 1/2 teaspoon of the coconut oil and honey mixture.  There is no such thing as "overuse" of CBD, just a waste of money after a certain point.

CBD absorbs quickly when added to coconut oil, which is a medium chain fatty acid and very healthy.

Best recipe: 1/2 cup extra-virgin coconut oil (solid) and 1 tbsp local or Manuka honey per gram of CBD.  Himalayan Salt added is a good option.
