PainBomb Ingredients & Their Formulaic Importance

A Summary of the Benefits of Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils
1.  Very small in molecular size, essential oils quickly penetrate tissues.
2.  Essential oils are fat-soluble & can penetrate cell membranes even if hardened due to oxygen deficiency. (Lipid (fat)-soluble substances can enter cells by dissolving in the lipid portion of the membrane and diffusing through it).
3.  Essential oils can affect every cell of the body within 20 minutes & are then metabolized like other nutrients. They work in harmony with the body, unlike chemically-based medications which often cause serious side effects &/or death. In laboratory studies & clinical trials, EO's have destroyed or seriously inhibited all tested bacteria & viruses, & to do so without causing harm to cells, organs, tissues, or body systems. In many cases, EO's have assisted the body to restore normal function.
4.  EO's stimulate blood flow, increasing oxygen and nutrient delivery.
5.  EO's are some of the most powerful known antioxidants, as determined by the Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity (ORAC) test developed at Tufts University. This test measures the antioxidant capacity of different foods and natural substances.
The following chart shows a comparison of different foods & natural substances on the ORAC scale:  Orac_Scale_Comparisons_2.pdf
223.3 KB

6.  EO's are antibacterial, anti-infectious, anti-fungal, antimicrobial, anti-parasitic, anti-viral, & antiseptic. Some essential oils have been shown to destroy all tested bacteria and viruses, including e-coli, MRSA (the flesh-eating virus) & staph. In March of this year, 2013, the CDC warned the public & media about antibiotic-resistant bacteria that kills half of those exposed. Google the words, "Nightmare Bacteria".
7.  Essential oils have been known to detoxify cells & blood.
8.  Oils containing sesquiterpenes have the ability to pass the blood-brain barrier, allowing for more oxygen & nutrient absorption, improving brain function.
9.  Essential oils are aromatic, diffusion provides air purification by:
     * Increasing ozone and negative ions in the air.
     * Eliminating odors from bacteria, mold, animals, cooking, & other sources.
     * Filling the air with a fresh, aromatic scent.
10.  Studies & first-hand reports have shown that essential oils promote emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being.

About Essential Oils
Essential oils have an incredible ability to erase & restructure cell memory, often restoring cell health & reversing various conditions.  The chemical explanation for this is as follows:
1. - Phenols & Phenylpropanoids (antiseptic) are molecular compounds within EO's that clean cell receptor sites. Sickness will result in cells that cannot communicate properly.
2. - Sesquiterpenes (oxygenating, mood elevating) are molecular compounds within EO's that will erase faulty information in the cellular memory (DNA). Bad information in the cell DNA will result in disease.
3. - Monoterpenes (hostile to microbes) are molecular compounds within EO's that will reprogram the bad information in the cellular memory (DNA). Correct information in the cell DNA will result in a healthy cell.

99.996% Pure DMSO, the Purest Available
1.  Effectively reduces swelling, discomfort & inflammation.
2.  Slows the growth of - and in many instances - kills bacteria, viruses & fungi.
3.  Speeds healing of burns.
4.  Relieves sprains & strains.
5.  Relieves arthritic joints by targeting free radicals, especially hydroxyl radicals, the chemical ions dominant in arthritis.
6.  Has lessened mental retardation in people with Down's Syndrome.
7.  Has been credited with preventing damage to heart muscle.
8.  Has been a lifesaving factor when employed early to stroke & heart attack victims.
9.  Cancer appears to respond well to DMSO, by putting cancerous cells in touch with DMSO solutions, doctors at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City have turned cancerous cells into harmless normal ones.
10.  Commonly employed in cryopreservation (organ transplant situations).
11.  Increasingly employed in transdermal solutions (patches, i.e., birth control patch, etc.).

Safely & successfully treats the following conditions:
Cataracts
Sports Injuries
Scleroderma
Myasthenia Gravis
Tuberculosis
12.  Studies show DMSO to be a penetrant across the blood-brain barrier, it can carry substances such as essential oils directly into the brain.
13.  Placed into the nostrils, DMSO can open blocked sinuses.
14.  It can carry antibacterial and antiviral oils right into the middle ear to lessen infections.
15.  Inflammations such as pink eye from viral invasion have disappeared after just a few applications of DMSO.
16.  Periodontists have cleared up gum disease and reduced tooth decay and their associated pain by painting DMSO on the involved areas. Some dentists are dropping it into empty tooth sockets after extractions as it stops post-extraction swelling.
17.  Podiatrists have found DMSO effective for the treatment of painful corns, calluses, ingrown toenails, bunions, hammertoes, heel spurs, & the inflammation of gouty toes. It appears to control gout pain after just 7 days of application.
18.  DMSO reduces the symptoms of herpes simplex, and herpes II is greatly relieved by direct application.
19.  DMSO has also been shown to inhibit the excess production of fibroblasts, the primary cells that form connective tissues and are produced in excess in the swelling process. Excess fibroblasts lead to the formation of scar tissue. DMSO binds to fluids in swollen tissue and escorts them out of the body.

MSM
MSM, or Methylsulfonylmethane, is an organic sulfur compound naturally occurring in the blood and found in most foods.  In studies, MSM has alleviated pain and reduced inflammation associated with the following conditions:  arthritis, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, chronic back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, allergies,
fibromyalgia, lupus and other auto-immune disorders.  Studies also suggest that MSM can be effective in reducing muscle spasms, increasing blood flow and helping to maintain and repair cartilage.  It is also thought that MSM may help slow the development of cancer.

MSM has helped alleviate several chronic conditions and has the following effects on the human body:

1.  Reduces or eliminates pain in approximately 70% of people taking it.  MSM is believed to have the same effect as DMSO.
2.  Anti-inflammatory. DMSO has been shown in studies to make the body's natural anti-inflammatory, cortisol, more effective in smaller amounts. MSM is believed to have the same effect.
3.  MSM passes through cellular membranes & can be used as a transport for therapeutic remedies.
4.  Inhibits cholinesterase, the enzyme that stops excessive passage of nerve impulses from one nerve cell to another. It is also the enzyme mostly responsible for constipation.
5.  Reduces muscle spasms.
6.  Reduces scar tissue by altering the cross-linking process in collagen; helps to reduce the amount of scarring due to injury and sometimes helps to reduce old scarring.
7.  Has anti-parasitic qualities; especially for giardia, which causes diarrhea.
8.  Has an immune normalizing effect. Helpful for such conditions as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis and scleroderma.
9.  Increases blood flow.
10.  Potentially makes cell walls more permeable.
11.  Increases nail and hair thickness and strength, softens skin by increasing the body's production of cystine, one of the amino acids that gives keratin its toughness, and keratin is one of the proteins found in nail, hair & skin tissues.
12.  Increased energy.
13.  Decreased muscle soreness.

Lab studies on rodents show MSM helps to delay the onset of cancer, lupus, and rheumatoid arthritis.

Helichrysum Italicum (aka Immortelle)
Helichrysum essential oil therapeutic properties:
  • Anti SpasmodicSpasms are unwelcome contractions in the body. They happen in muscles, nerves, intestines, lungs & respiratory tracts, & they often result in severe cramps, convulsions and abdominal pains, as well as coughs & breathlessness.  In extreme cases, spasms can be fatal.  Helichrysum helps relieve headaches, migraines, asthma, bronchitis and irritable bowels, quick treatment is advised
  • Viteligo, Dermatitis, Eczema, PsoriasisHelichrysum Italicum is beneficial for all skin issues, including vitiligo, dermatitis, eczema, & psoriasis, as well as other allergic conditions, spots, & abscesses.  Also helpful for burns & inflammation of any kind.  Vitiligo is a disease of skin pigments called melanin, & it affects approximately 2% of the population, often resulting in a loss of skin pigment or color.  Medically, viteligo is not a serious disease, but it has a social significance for those whom are affected by it, as do many skin conditions.
  • Anti-Inflammatory Pain Relief:  Relieves inflammation resulting from fever, injury, etc..  Very quickly soothes the body & is effective in treating cuts, burns, infections & rheumatoid arthritis.  Because of its anti-inflammatory properties, helichrysum oil is extremely effective in treating pain from injury, headache, joint pain, neuropathy & practically every other type of pain imaginable.
  • Anti-Coagulant:  A life-saving feature of Helichrysum Essential Oil, the anti-coagulant properties can be a blessing for those who run the risk of heart attack due to thickening of blood & high cholesterol. It can immediately give relief in such a crisis by liquefying or thinning the blood.
  • Anti-Allergenic:  Symptoms of allergies are skin rashes, stomachache, asthma, convulsions, & even death.  Allergy first occurs in internal organs such as liver, spleen, lungs, respiratory tracts, intestines & heart.  Helichrysum oil treatment at the outset of allergies can prevent the symptoms & results listed.
  • Antimicrobial & Antiseptic:   Helichrysum oil checks microbial growth and protects from microbial infections. It does not allow wounds to go septic. It can be safely applied to cuts, pricks, scratches, bites, etc.
  • Anti-Haematoma:  Helps clear the accumulation of bloods or blood clots which result from a haemorrhage, even those in the brain after a brain haemorrhage. These clots often interfere with normal functioning of brain.  Helichrysum promotes dissolution of these clots.
  • Anti-Phlogistic:  Effective in reducing inflammations resulting from fever This can help the patient recover by preventing exhaustion during a fever, & it also aids in fighting fever.
  • Anti-Tussive:  This property is beneficial for those who are tired and exhausted of continuous coughing. Being an anti Tussive, Helichrysum Oil gives relief from coughs due to deposition of phlegm in the respiratory tracts as well as due to itchiness in throat caused by infections (cold etc.).
  • Nervine: Helichrysum Oil is a nervine. It keeps your nervous system in order, strengthens it and protects it from disorders. A regular use can protect you from nervous disorders resulting from age and otherwise for a long time. You won’t go nervous over small issues.
  • Cicatrisant: This property of Helichrysum Essential Oil makes your wounds and cuts heal up and scar marks disappear fast. It is equally effective on spots left on your skin by pox, boils etc.
  • Expectorant: Helichrysum Essential Oil is also an expectorant. It gives warmth to the respiratory system, loosens deposition of phlegm in it and does not let new phlegm deposit. It gives relief from continuous cough and Febrifuge: Fever is not a disease in itself. It is just a symptom which shows that the immune system of our body is fighting against infections or unwanted substances. Thus, you will see, fever never comes alone. It always accompanies cold, viral infections, bacterial infections and infections on wounds, liver malfunctions, pox, boils, allergy or arthritis. Helichrysum Oil, simultaneously being an anti allergenic, anti microbial, anti inflammatory, anti tussive, cicatrisant, fungicidal and anti septic at a stretch, helps cure the root of fever and eventually reduces fever, thereby acting as a febrifuge. Burning helichrysum is also beneficial for bronchial conditions as it helps break up mucus and ease lung congestion. It is useful as an expectorant when gargled.
  • Cholagogue: Helichrysum Oil has Cholagogue properties, which means it promotes discharge of bile into stomach and helps neutralize acids, thereby promoting digestion, curing acidity and acidosis.
  • Emollient: This property of Helichrysum Oil makes the skin smooth, soft and helps it retain moisture. It prevents dehydration and cracking of the skin.
  • Mucolytic: Mucus helps keep all the internal tracts (larynx, pharynx, trachea, bronchi, food pipe, intestines etc.) moist and slippery and thereby protecting them from scratches and infections etc. Mucus is essential for the body and without this these tracts may suffer from sever wounds and infections. But problem occurs when it starts depositing and thickening in the respiratory system following any infection. Then it results in coughs, congestions etc. Being a Mucolytic, Helichrysum Oil promotes thinning of excess or hardened mucus through hydrolysis and its removal from the body along with excreta. This can effectively cure congestion and cough resulting from cold.
  • Fungicidal: Fungal infections are some of the most dangerous types of infections. This oil prohibits and inhibits fungal infections effectively.
  • Hepatic: Being a hepatic, this oil soothes liver, relieves it of inflammations, regulates its discharges, protects it from infections and keeps it healthy, active and strong. It stimulates the regeneration of liver cells. Di-ketones, which have a regenerative effect. Huge amounts of di-ketones are found in Helichrysum oil alone. However I am still researching into this aspect and I am waiting for medical back up on this. I will develop this section further in the months to come.
  • Diuretic: It has diuretic properties, i.e. it promotes and facilitates urination, in frequency and in quantity, thereby helping removal of toxic substances from the blood through urine. Urination also helps in lowering blood pressure, losing weight by losing fat and improving digestion.
  • Splenic: This property of Helichrysum Essential Oil can be very beneficial for the anemic people. Spleen is involved in the production and recycling of red blood cells. Having a healthy spleen means you never run short of blood and this oil keeps your spleen healthy and free from infections.
  • Cytophylactic: Helichrysum Oil promotes cell health and also encourages recycling of dead cell and production of new cells. This helps in the growth of the body This property can be particularly beneficial for skin care, especially when used in rejuvenating facial oils. This property can be particularly beneficial for growing children or children who have obstructed growth.
  • Relaxant and Anti-Depressant: Curbs negative emotions and stimulates positive thoughts and actions.
  • Other Benefits: It detoxifies liver, relieves congestion, neutralizes effects of nicotine and caffeine and helps cure herpes, cystitis, arthritis, sinusitis, colitis, neuralgia and varicose veins. It has uplifting effects on mind and improves meridian flow.
  • Powerful Bruise relief: For those really severe bruising you can apply the Helichrysum Italicum essential oil directly on the haematoma either in its pure form or diluted in a vegetable oil in a proportion of 5 to 10%, I find that apricot oil is really good but other people like rose hip oil. It’s a question of taste or in this case, smell.
  • Anti-phlebitis: Stimulates the blood circulation and can treat old bruises therefore reliving skin tissue and can also be applied to scars, even old ones, phlebitis, varicose veins, oedema and blotches can be treated in an effective way with great results. It activates the arterial circulation and the micro computing blood circulation alleviating suffering in distressed skin tissue. It is particularly active against blood clots.
  • Anticatarrhal, mucolityque (loosens bronchi): Helichrysum Italicum can be used very successfully as a bronchial expectorant which will elevate congestion. A few drops of this oil in either hot water or an inhaler will help to relieve and cure this uncomfortable ailment.
  • Cholesterol : Regulates the cholesterol level A and B
  • Healing and astringent cutaneous and desclerosant: A high proportion of anti-inflammatory sesquiterpene hydrocarbons. This compound disperses free radicals. The unique chemical composition of essential oils from individual plants provides the oil its healing features. For instance, Helichrysum essential oil is distilled from the Helichrysum Italicum flowers. The oil includes a very effective blend of compounds that are anti-inflammatory, anti-free-radical a very powerful anti-oxidant, a tissue regenerative, and anti-haematomata.
  • Aroma therapeutic : Studies have revealed that the mere smelling of natural aromatic oils, such as Helichrysum essential oil, can help you to sleep better, focus better, improve your mood. All of these effects can have a positive effect on the athlete suffering from sports-related injuries. In fact it’s a great anti depressant. The unique chemical composition of essential oils from individual plants provides the oil its healing features. Liquid yucca concentrates are reported to provide numerous skin soothing and healing benefits and are widely used in cosmetics and skin care creams, shampoos and bath salt formulations. More importantly, yucca contains natural, steroidal-like saponins that are effective anti-inflammatories and anti-spasmodics which are known to reduce pain associated with arthritis. Yucca has been used for years by the Southwestern Indians for pain and inflammation caused by arthritis and rheumatism. It is known to reduce joint inflammation and has been used with success for allergies and to strengthen the immune system.

Robert Bingham, MD, director of the Desert Hot Springs Medical Clinic in Palm Springs, CA, reported, "We have known for several years that a food supplement extracted from yucca acts like a natural form of cortisone, to reduce and eliminate the pain, swelling and joint stiffness suffered by arthritis victims. 60 percent of people who took the yucca supplements experienced diminished pain, swelling, and stiffness. There were no side-effects. Further, those who took the yucca extract supplement had lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels, and relief from intestinal toxicity". Journal of Applied Nutrition (Vol.27, No.2 and No.3) "Sterodial saponins also may tend to break down the high molecular fats in foods whose absorption contributes to high blood pressure, hardening of the arteries, hypertriglyceridemia, and hypercholesterolemia. One of our most significant findings was that no patient taking saponin extract for 6 months or more continued to show an abnormally high blood pressure or excessive blood triglyceride and cholesterol levels. In other words, there were permanent benefits." --- Dr. Robert Bingham, Arthritis News Today, Vol 2, No 6

Mary Clarke, Ph.D., of Kansas State University reports that saponins "serve as natural antibiotics for the plant." And now, "scientists are looking at how they can help humans fight fungal infections, combat microbes and viruses, boost the effectiveness of certain vaccines, and knock out some kinds of tumor cells, particularly lung and blood cancers. They can also lower blood cholesterol thereby reducing heart disease".

How Yucca Saponins reduce cholesterol: Bile acids are made from cholesterol in the liver and gall bladder and pass into the small intestines mixing with water to aid in digestion. As this mixture enters the colon, the water is reabsorbed back into the body carrying with it the bile acids and cholesterol. Saponins cannot penetrate the intestinal wall, but work within the small and large intestine. Saponins bind with the bile acids making them unavailable for reabsorption. They pass into the colon and are excreted. This forces the liver to produce more bile. To produce more bile, the liver must remove cholesterol from the blood, leaving less to build up in the arteries.

Arnica Montana Extract

While Arnica is used for a number of benefits medicinally it is probably most well known for its abilities to help reduce bruising and inflammation. Arnica Flower has traditionally been used for external treatment of rheumatism, muscle and joint problems. Arnica is also a common main ingredient in bruise balms or ointments. In addition to its anti-inflammatory properties, Arnica may also be a valuable ingredient for use in hair care formulations. Arnica may help to encourage hair growth when used in conditioners, hair oils, and scalp treatments. Arnica is often used in soothing salves, balms, and tinctures to help alleviate red, itchy, or inflamed skin.

St. John's Wort Extract (Hypericum perforatum)
St. John's wort has been used topically in the treatment of nerve and muscle pain, skin inflammation, skin wounds, and burns. It has been used for centuries to treat mental disorders and nerve pain and has also been used as a sedative and a treatment for malaria and insect bites. St. John's wort has also been researched and applied in the treatment of anxiety, mild to moderate depression, stomach upset, insomnia, fluid retention, and hemorrhoids. Today, St. John’s wort is used by some for depression, anxiety, and/or sleep disorders.

Clove Oil                                                                                                       back to top
Clove Essential Oil has the highest anti-oxidant capability of any essential oil, perhaps one of the highest known for a food or supplement (read cautions before ingesting) - it has been included in
some 'longevity' formulas for this reason.
Therapeutic grade clove essential oil is strongly anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antiseptic, and hemostatic. Because of it's strong anti-parasitic action, Clove is also included in Dr. Hulda Clark's protocol for elimination of parasites from one's own digestive system (ground cloves are called for in the recipe - though we have found the oil to also be effective). Courmont et al. demonstrated that a solution of .05% eugenol from clove oil was sufficient to kill the tuberculosis bacillus (Gattefosse, 1990).

Clove is also commonly used for numbing tooth pain, and may be effective in speeding the healing of mouth and gum sores. Eugenol, clove's principal constituent, was used in the dental industry for years to numb gums. It is included in blends for joint pain, for its analgesic and warming properties. Clove oil can also be used to assist breaking of tobacco addiction by placing a drop on the tongue with one's finger.

Birch Oil

Birch essential oil has an array of healing properties. Birch bark contains salicylic acid, the active ingredient found in aspirin, as well as methyl salicylate, betulene, and betulenol. Its primary therapeutic benefit is relieving inflammation and pain from its anti-inflammatory, anti-spasmodic, and analgesic properties. Applied topically, it can treat pain due to arthritis and minor injuries. Rub birch essential oil, diluted in a carrier oil, on tired hands, worn shoulders, and an aching back.

Birch essential oils also has antiseptic properties, protecting the skin from bacteria and other harmful microbes. It is useful in skin care products, helping to reduce wrinkles and sagging skin by tightening pores, while keeping the skin clean and pure. It has a detoxifying effect, helping to remove toxins from the blood, improving overall heath, and relieving problems with joint inflammation. Birch oil also has an overall stimulating effect on the body, benefiting the nervous system, the digestive system, and even the endocrine system. In this way, it can help lift feelings of depression, improve digestion, and facilitate normal body functioning.

Birch should only used topically in dilutions of 25% or less to limit the transdermal absorption to safe levels. The salicylates pass through the skin, entering the tissues to inhibit the formation of prostaglandins, thereby reducing inflammation and pain.

Along with its analgesic effects, Birch also has anti-inflammatory, anti-rheumatic, antitussive, astringent, carminative, diuretic, emmenagogue, galactagogue and stimulant properties. Birch is often included in formulas to open the breathing passages; deep inhalation of its bright aroma can clear the sinuses and stimulate the mind. Birch blends nicely with Ravensara and/or Eucalyptus for this effect.

Blue Tansy Oil (Tanacetum annum)

Blue Tansy essential oil is a vivid deep blue color due to its azulene content. This particular Blue Tansy is organically produced, and has an amazing aroma... warm and herbaceous with a wonderfully complex sweetness - as though one has found a patch of wild blueberries deep in an old growth forest. Not to be confused with Tansy oil, Blue Tansy Oil is non-toxic, and has many similar properties to German 'Blue' Chamomile oil. The aroma of Blue Tansy oil induces relaxation and can be used to ease nervous tension and stress. It is said to be beneficial for allergies, and may also quite useful for asthma – blend it with some Ravensara for best results. For respiratory support, it is most effectively used as an inhalant in a diffuser, or you can also put a couple of drops on a handkerchief and inhale.

Blue Tansy essential oil is considered by aromatherapists to be an important oil for burned, inflamed and damaged skin, sunburns and bruises. Like other “blue” oils, is used for sore muscles, sprains and strains, arthritis, rheumatism, and sciatica. Blue Tansy is most efficacious when used in concentrations of 5% or less.

Basil Essential Oil (Ocimum basilicum)
Basil Oil has been referred to as 'the royal oil to strengthen the mind and heart and to reinforce resistance against infectious diseases.' The oil's capability to improve memory and sharpen the mind has been praised. Basil’s possible neuro-regulating properties make it an excellent choice for support of mild nervous disorders, stress and anxieties. It is noted as a natural nerve tonic, with the ability to be stimulant and/or restorative depending on the body's needs, lifting one from melancholic depression and bringing clarity to a confused mental state. The nervine properties effectually stimulate the sympathetic nerves and strengthen the adrenal cortex. Basil has cerebrospinal effects as well. It is therefore frequently recommended for numerous nervous afflictions, including epilepsy and paralysis.
